Meet Janet Bedingfield, Divine Healer

Born into an actively Christian family, even though I have memories as young as a year old I don’t remember ever looking at the world without doing so through the lens of a loving God.

As a young child I intuitively sensed other people’s energy, thoughts, and emotions, and I developed an independence of thought and belief which resulted in deciding at age ten that there couldn’t be a hell because the loving God I spent so much time communicating with would never send his beloveds to a place like that. At the age of twelve I was introduced to eastern religion by my sister who brought the concept into my awareness on a visit home from college, opening my world and launching me onto a lifelong path of seeking spiritual Truth. Throughout my youth I had powerful spiritual experiences involving clairvoyance, claircognizance, clairaudience, clairsentience, clairsalience, and clairgustance, but I explained them away when I could, having no mentor or reference for them and no real idea what a rare gift they were.

Seeking and studying intensely but not finding resonance or anyplace I really belonged, I went in and out of the Christian community but never stayed long before I got restless and went looking for “more.” After fifteen years living “a dark night of the soul” including two divorces and both of my sons fighting in Iraq for four years, I was on my own healing journey when I was introduced to Abraham-Hicks and the Law of Attraction by a dear friend, Steve Waechter. I knew I’d finally found what I’d been searching for throughout my life and I jumped in with both feet, no hesitation.  I was 59 years old.

Not long after that introduction to the Law of  Attraction, I began feeling a call to combine my love of natural health with spiritual energy healing, but I didn’t even know what that might look like. Two years after surrendering that nebulous call, a highly regarded psychic medium, in one of her first messages of my session, told me, “They are saying you are a healer.” She asked if I’d read the book Hands of Light by Barbara Brennan. I was reading it within days and I travelled from northern Colorado to Santa Fe two months later to attend a Hands of Light weekend workshop.

Healing was like getting on a bike after many years, only I’d never been on that bike before, at least not in this lifetime. With my friend Steve’s encouragement, support, and complete belief in my healing ability, I began offering healing sessions almost immediately after we returned from Santa Fe. I was constantly delighted by the positive results achieved through me as a conduit for The Divine’s unconditional Love with guidance from my Healing Team.

Almost a year later a gifted self-taught healer, Ariel, wondered out loud if she could teach me her method. She gave me a brief description of her process and it worked like a charm on my first try. Behold, Focused Healings were born!

This work is the manifestation of my greatest imaginings, perfected far beyond my own ability by The All That Is, and yet I can look back and see I came to this life to share these gifts as part of my incarnational purpose. No matter what modality I am manifesting it through, my purpose is to reflect the Divine Light emanating from you so you can see yourself as I do, through the eyes of Divine Love, and embrace the Truth that you are an extension of The Divine and cannot be separated from God. Ever. That understanding is the first step on our path Home, to at-one-ment with God, and I am honored to be a part of your healing journey along that path. I receive immeasurable pleasure and joy from the experience of The Divine breathing through me in service to others, and I thank you for that opportunity.

What is Energy Healing?
Energy Healing is a way to restore balance within ourselves and in our bodies. Some people hold too much energy and tend to overreact to situations or get stressed out. Others need extra energy to support them in their healing process or just in showing up more in life. Still others hold everything inside and need to relax and allow more of a release of energy. Healing allows us to drop underneath our habitual patterns of protection from our lifetime of wounds so we can experience deeper states of inner peace and connect more with our lives, others and ourselves.

Who should consider including Energy Healing in their health care program?
All kinds of physical illness respond in some way to energy work because our pains and tensions and our illnesses often result from blocking the energy that in a healthy body is flowing freely. Eastern culture teaches us that energy comes first and when it slows down enough it manifests as physical matter. If you change the energy, you change matter. And, where energy (and therefore blood) is stagnant (stasis), there will be dysfunction and eventually disease.

When we block our life force by fretting about the future or being stuck in the past, we not only produce physical problems, we also diminish or even shut out our capacity to experience the fullness of life in the moment. This blocking usually leads us to false mental conclusions, distorted thoughts and emotions that then distort our experience and understanding of our bodies, ourselves, our relationships, our professions, etc. Healing supports the process of coming into wholeness in every way and learning to give life another chance. The rewards are many. The more “conscious” we become, the more vital our lives will be.

What conditions respond best to energy work?
Stress-related illnesses respond well as do painful and chronic complaints of all kinds. Recovery from cancer or surgery can be accelerated. Since the body often holds physical memories that have no mental connection, energy healing often gets at emotional and psychological issues that can’t be accessed in traditional talk therapy. When medical or holistic interventions don’t bring about wellness, energy healing can be a major force for resolution.

How does energy work have physical effects?
Physical matter is formed on a matrix of energy patterns. Without the energy, there is no matter. We know this in physics but don’t usually think of it in terms of our bodies. A physical injury changes the energy field. It might create a break or a leak in the flow of the life force or a block in the energy field. Conversely, a distortion in the energy will create a physical change. As we work on repairing the energy field the life force returns to normal and initiates healing in the physical body.

What is an aura or energy field?

Just as there are several physical systems in our bodies (circulatory, digestive, nervous), so are there several energy systems (chakras, meridians, auric field). They all work together to create “life,” Your aura is really your personal space, that area around you that you associate as yours. It is an energy field that surrounds and interpenetrates the physical body. It holds the positive life force as well as unexpressed emotions, physical traumas, suppressed feelings and thoughts. 80% of our communication is done through the auric field. It is the medium through which we express love and come into relationship with the world.
